scob architecture and landscape

  • Projecte: S. Carulla, O. Blasco,
    Team: X. Mayor, S. Sanna, M. Hernandez, G. Yubero, R. Franceschini, C. Santiago, J. P. Naya, S. Ruiz.
    Area: 1.100 Ha
    Client: Barcelona's City Council.

From periphery to territorial planning. The project understands the entrance of Torre Baró as an opportunity to connect the path of Passeig de les Aigües with river Besós, which, in turn, leads to the waterfront.
From the geometrical order to vital order. The proposal is conceived, implanted and developed, as an autotroph organism would do.
From self-construction to self-management. Recovery of the traditional entrepreneurial spirit of the neighborhood, adapting it to the new environmental, economic and social needs.
From dependency to self-sufficiency. Implementation of a large productive area to promote the self-sufficiency of the neighbourhood with proximity products.
From large projects to small realities. Improvement of the environmental conditions by reducing the polluting effects of the infrastructures.
From uniformity to landscapes’ diversity. Once developed the organism, the diversity of landscapes will be a feature and added value in Torre Baró.
