 Sergi Carulla and Oscar Blasco

Sergi Carulla and Oscar Blasco are both architects and landscape architects who trained in Barcelona. Both have been in charge of urban projects in several of Barcelona’s public administrations. In 2005 they founded SCOB architecture and landscape studio, from where they have developed projects that combine both disciplines. SCOBDOCS

scobdocs is a cultural, as well as a research project on landscape. Through the filming of a series of short documentaries, we try to understand the link between places we encounter and the people who experience them or, like us, walk through them. In this particular spot is where we place our camera, hoping we can capture the landscape that appears before us.

scobdocs believes, as Goethe formulated about 200 years ago, that the most specific and extended benefit for mankind is only the result of great and selfless efforts that do not demand a reward but, in return, do not deliver a useful outcome for humanity, neither at the end of a year, nor a decade or century.

Picapedrers is a short documentary film produced by Sergi Carulla and Oscar Blasco and directed by Kike barberà. It was filmed in spring of 2013 in the basalt quarry of Castellfollit de la Roca, thanks to the valuable collaboration of Raúl Ortiz, the last stonecutter.

Here you can watch the trailer of the documentary flim.
