Skatepark Les Corts (Les Corts District, Barcelona), 2014
Back to urban design

Project: Sergi Carulla, Oscar Blasco, Sergi Arenas
Team: G. Yubero, X. Astaburuaga, T. Vivó
Area: 2.572 m2
Client:: Barcelona's City Council
Photography: Adrià Goula

The program sets out the new skate park as a skate square. The project works within the limits of the scope of the intervention, making use of the changes in level and of the retaining slopes  in order to place the skate elements. These are organized as walls, inclined levels, steps, terraces, benches, handrails, etc…, which are linked together in a common way rather than being seen as isolated objects. The main goal has been to partially undo the usual image of big and tough elements placed in an open space with no shaded areas, allowing the surrounding vegetation to have continuity and direct contact with the new installation.
